New Parent Coaching

It is easy to forget that mothers need care too. Babies are small, you just gave birth or brought a baby into the family, you have a million questions and fears, everyone is giving you advice, and falling down an Internet rabbit hole causes more questions and anxiety. I’m here to support you as you begin your journey into parenthood, to answer questions, help you set up systems, and empower you to be your best. Every parent should be allowed to make the best decisions and choices for their family.

I am here to provide you with emotional and educational support as you become a new parent. I can help you create a postpartum plan, answer questions about breastfeeding/bottle feeding/pumping, postpartum healing, postpartum meals and nutrition, set up a meal train and advise on how your network can support you, help you find resources in your area (lactation consultants, new mom groups, body workers, etc.), babywearing, cloth diapering, creating routines for your family, and, most importantly, be an experienced ear to listen as you make this transition.

I am here to support you, answer your questions, or hold space for you to process your journey.

*I am available to support your family in English or in Hebrew.

Tamar is nothing short of a lifesaver.  My birth went in no way as I had planned, and I was experiencing the aftermath of trauma and my body’s struggle to bounce back after my c-section. I luckily was able to breastfeed, but only with the help of Tamar and her warm, empathetic support all along every scary hiccup of the way.  But Tamar was there for everything along the way, and her wisdom, patience, kindness, and knowledge helped nurse me back to health and start feeling comfortable nursing and caring for my baby, too.

I still joke about how Tamar is my life coach because she was my go-to in everything “new mom” related that was incredibly confusing, scary, and new to me.  She is like a mama bird with her wings spread out around you making you feel safe and heard during such a vulnerable time of life.

About halfway through my pregnancy, Tamar worked with me to establish a birth support system. I was pregnant with my first child, and one of the first people in my social circle to have kids, and even though I was so excited, most of my pre-birth prep involved getting ready for the baby: putting together a nursery, getting her clothes in order, reading about her development in the first months. I treated my own self-care as an afterthought. Tamar’s gentle guidance helped me refocus and consider my own labor and post-birth needs and effectively utilize my eager but clueless support system. When my birth didn’t go according to plan AT ALL, Tamar’s advice proved to be invaluable. With her warm guidance I was able to delegate tasks and recover in comfort.

Luckily, breastfeeding came naturally to my daughter and I but I still had millions of questions. Postpartum, we’re basically told to wait for the 6-week ob-gyn appointment unless there’s an “issue”. As a result, us new moms develop an intimate relationship with our smartphones and google which Is incredibly isolating. It feels so much better to receive practical advice and kind reassurance from Tamar. She taught me how to wear my ring sling and I have to say…babywearing has saved my sanity more times than I can count! We should all be so lucky to have Tamar by our side as we recover from and settle into one of life’s hugest shifts. I would gladly recommend her services to all new parents.
